Historical Noble Building With A Garden And Pool In Milan
Ancient prestigious estate with a garden, pool and water spring for sale on the outskirts of Milan
14th-century estate with two stunning porticoes and a private courtyard for sale in the province of Milan
Just a few kilometres from Milan, this prestigious historical building dating back to the 16th century is for sale.
Composed of eleven refined rooms, this lavish palace has two levels and overlooks a private courtyard with a frescoed portico, connected to a lush garden measuring 850 sqm.
Currently used as a tourist accommodation facility, the palace has a centuries-old history that has its roots in the Renaissance. Built at the beginning of the 15th century on the land of the sixth Duke of Milan Gian Galeazzo Sforza, it became the residence of the most important noble family in the area. The foundations of the structure date back to the 14th century. Renovated in the 17th century, it today enjoys good conservation conditions thanks to recently carried out restoration and consolidation works.
The building stands out for its sober elegance, characterized by squared geometries that give it an orderly and rational appearance, skillfully balanced by the dynamism of the curvilinear arches of the porticoes. It consists of a master wing which has splendid pink-veined granite columns on the lower floor and a wing at the time dedicated "to servants", delimited by a terracotta colonnade. The internal courtyard dates back to the 17th century, while under the external portico some frescoes from a later period were found, dated around the middle of 1620.
The structure boasts spacious and very charming interiors, characterized by wonderful, well-preserved finishes, period decorations and frescoes, as well as incredibly spectacular high coffered ceilings. During the restoration work, a big fireplace was recovered in warm pietra serena, with bas-relief friezes bearing the coats of arms of the families, the first names of the heirs and the date of construction on the pediment: 1596. On the side shoulders, you can see the faces of the Lords represented in medallions in the style of the ancient Romans.
Among the most impactful rooms is the splendid ballroom, measuring 125 sqm, whose ceilings have a height ranging from 4.5 to 6 metres. An apartment of approximately 80 sqm is also part of this property for sale. The attic offers considerable potential, as it can be transformed into a 200-sqm attic, while the rustic house can be expanded over 2 floors for a total of 180 sqm.
Outside, the building overlooks a large courtyard which houses a 400-sqm portico communicating with the garden, which can also be used as a car park. In the garden, there is a splendid swimming pool, the perfect place to cool off on hot summer days, surrounded by tall trees that create an intimate and private corner, detached from the residential area in which the property is located. Another peculiarity of the private garden is the presence of an enchanting water spring that gives rise to a pond, an element which contributes to consolidating an atmosphere of serenity and quietness.
This noble estate, suspended between the 14th century and the effervescence of contemporary Milan, is a precious portrait of Lombard history and the historical glories of this area. Living here means immersing yourself in the refined and poetic atmosphere of a bygone era, having at your fingertips the very rich range of services offered by the capital, one of the most sought-after Italian destinations in the world.
