Prestigious Late-17th-century Estate In Milan
Luxurious historical villa surrounded by nature for sale in the province of Milan
Old, finely-renovated noble estate with a private park for sale near Milan Malpensa
Prestigious noble estate dating back to the late 17th-century surrounded by luxuriant nature for sale on the outskirts of Milan, in a convenient position to reach Malpensa's international airport.
Belonging to the noble Borri-Manzoli family, present in this town since the 1200s, the villa is still inhabited by the heirs of its historic owners and partly used as a venue for exclusive events and private ceremonies.
Although the first traces of the structure date back to the 16th century, the main body dates back to the end of the 17th century. The first major renovation took place in November 1810, when countess Alda Borri married nobleman Giovanni Manzoli, a Napoleonic officer, bringing the house with the surrounding building and agricultural properties as a dowry. These restoration works are responsible for the neoclassical style of the south facade and the current appearance of the halls. Towards the end of the 19th century, a secondary wing was built to be rented out to a spinning mill. Part of the premises of the villa were occupied by German troops during World War I, leading to the deterioration of some areas of the building, only partially restored in the 1930s, followed by new damages during World War II.
Returned to its former glory in the 1990s thanks to some renovation works, it underwent a further impressive conservative restoration in spring 2011 which mainly involved the beautiful external facades. The north one, in exposed brick, has a majestic portico with a big loggia above. The facade facing south, towards the garden, is instead characterized by an elegant neoclassical style dating back to the early 19th century.
Among the interior spaces dedicated to hosting events, weddings, photo shoots and meetings, this elegant estate offers four Renaissance rooms and a splendid Orangerie.
From the Sala Napoleonica, there is direct access to the garden, an enormous three-hectare green space crossed by the Borra fountain, equally ideal for setting up outdoor events in the shade of centuries-old trees.
Four total structures make up the property, for a total of 4,500 internal sqm: one is monumental, frescoed and decorated, from the late seventeenth century; a part furnished with original furniture, finely restored and used as the main house; an upper part that needs restoration and, finally, some minor lateral bodies.
